From book Everything Belongs by Richard Rohr:
Prayer is being loved at a deep, sweet level. I hope you have felt such intimacy alone with God. I promise you it is available to you. Maybe a lot of us just need to be told that it is what we should expect and seek. We're afraid to ask for it; we're afraid to seek. It feels presumptuous. We can't trust that such a love exists. But it does.

What a sweet post. Great way to start the day.
This is one of my most read/underlined/worn out books.
I love this quote.
I've felt that love.
It is humbling.
I always pray to God, I like to think of him as the oposite of entropy, he is love a binding force of the universe.
Sometimes I think only when we suffer in this dimension we all share can we advance ourselves spiritually.
At the moment I just want to escape to a mud hut somewhere on the serengetti

I've been reading about that gift of contemplative Prayer in a book believed to have been written by an anonymous (like alcoholics?) English monk in the late 1300's. It's title:
THE CLOUD OF UNKNOWING...something special, it is, believe me!
Steve E.
This is a great book, and what a great post, thank you from my heart for the reminder.
